Twenty-Five Years, and Still You Are in Love

Twenty-five years, and still you are in love!
What river does not deepen as it flows?
Each day your love increases as it goes,
Nourishing the lands through which it moves.
The love that lasts is deeper far than passion.
Years pass and it abides beneath the light.
Few know the secrets of its dark delight,
Intent on all the toys that are in fashion.
Vivid lusts yield pleasures that soon cease.
Each year of love yields happiness and peace.

~ What are the legal requirements to be married in Manitoba?

Your Marriage Licence must be obtained within 90 days of the wedding date, but no less than 24 hours prior.
You and your fiancé must both be present and be sure to bring plenty of ID.
For divorced persons, a divorce certificate or decree absolute must be shown.
For widowed persons, a death certificate or newspaper obituary clipping must be shown.
You must be at least 18 years of age.

Two witnesses are required at the ceremony to sign the registration document,
usually your Best Man and Maid of Honour.
They can also be other family or friends.

~ When should I book my officiant?

You should book as soon as you have decided on a date.
Many officiants book up to 1 or 2 years in advance.
Short notice ceremonies can most often be accommodated as well.

~ Do you require a deposit?

We do require a 50% at the time of booking in order to hold the date and time
with the balance due one week before the ceremony.
You may also pay the fee in full at the time of booking if you wish and receive a 10% discount
on service amount (discount not applicable any possible travel/mileage fee).

~ What will my officiant wear?

Sheri will wear conservative, business-style attire.
When possible she will also try to co-ordinate with the bridal colours.
If you prefer she can also wear a black judge-style cloak.

~ Do we need a formal rehearsal?

Our ceremonies includes a rehearsal or pre-wedding planning meeting.
Many ceremonies do not need a rehearsal as the format of the ceremony
is discussed with the couple ahead of time.
Prior to the ceremony on the wedding day Sheri will arrive approximately 20 minutes
to half hour before ceremony time, meet with the couple and their attendants to
inform/remind them of who will walk in when, where to stand, etc.

~ What name do I sign the Marriage Licence with?

You would sign the documents with your name prior to marriage.
